We get asked this question a lot and to be honest it can vary quite a bit. An average new home build with us can take anywhere from 4 to 12 months. That includes from when we first meet at the planning stage right up until we hand over the keys to your new home.
How long the planning stage goes for – The planning stage is very important. The back and forth between builder and client can seem long but in the long run, it will make the build quicker. It’s much easier to make changes here rather than later down the road.
The finance stage – Getting your finances in order with banks and brokers beforehand will save you a lot of time and hassle on your home build.
The size of the home build – Is your home one storey or two? Two bedroom or five? Does it come with a shed or granny flat? Of course the larger a dream, the longer it can take, but it’s worth it.
The land you are building on – Site preparation is often forgotten when dreaming about your new home but depending on where you pick to build, this can add or lengthen site prep time.
Permits – While we do our best to help you get these as soon as possible, in the end we cannot rush local councils and governments.
The weather – Unfortunately we can’t control the weather and the tropical storms of QLD can sometimes put building plans on hold. Luckily, we can work through most weather conditions.
Post contract variations – Making changes once we start is possible but keep in mind, this can slow the build time as we work to meet your needs.
Unexpected events – There are some things we just can’t predict… like a pandemic. You always need to add in some buffer time for the unknown.
We pride ourselves on creating you your dream home, built on years of experience and with our Campbell Construction values in place:
We Listen, We’re Driven, We Deliver, We Care, We Are We, We’re Honest.
